It turns out that Drake is still hurt over his friendship breakup with DeMar DeRozan.

In a recent video shared by DJ Akademiks, Drake is seen onstage during his Sydney concert when a jersey is thrown to him while he performs “Rich Flex.” He holds the jersey for a moment before revealing DeMar DeRozan’s name and number. Upon realizing it was his former friend’s jersey, Drake threw it off the stage.

Fans reacted to Drake’s clear indication that he and DeRozan still have unresolved issues.

“Taking shots at everyone but Kendrick,” one fan commented, referencing the viral rap beef between Drake and Kendrick that surfaced last year.

“I defend Drake, and then he does [poop emoji] like this [shake head emoji],” a fan expressed.

Another reminded Drake of his rap feud with Meek Mill back in 2015: “This dude is still emotional. You lost this one; just let it go. You were smiling when you demolished Meek Mill.”

One fan pointed out a recent encounter between DeRozan and Drake: “Yet he was scared to look DeMar in the face when he was sitting courtside at that game last year.”

Why Is Drake Mad At DeMar DeRozan?

Drake and Sacramento Kings forward DeMar DeRozan began their friendship over 10 years ago when DeRozan played for the Toronto Raptors, which is Drake’s favorite team. However, their friendship soured when DeRozan attended Kendrick Lamar’s Pop Out Amazon special, where he was seen dancing on stage to “Not Like Us,” a diss track directed at Drake.

Things continued to deteriorate when DeRozan appeared in the official music video for “Not Like Us.”

While there seems to be some tension on Drake’s side, DeRozan has spoken about his current feelings regarding their relationship.

“We love Drake; we always can play him,” DeRozan said to FOX 40 back in July. “Kendrick has been a friend of mine, damn near family, for a long time. We’re from the same city, we grew up almost in the same neighborhood… It’s always been there. It hasn’t always been publicized, but that’s basically family.”

In “Not Like Us,” Kendrick mentions DeRozan in his lyrics.

“I’m glad DeRoz’ came home; y’all didn’t deserve him neither,” Lamar rapped. “From Alondra down to Central, n***a better not speak on Serena.”

On the other hand, Drake has been very vocal about his dislike for DeRozan, believing that he has picked sides. The rapper went viral last year when he expressed his intention to deface property associated with DeRozan.

“If you ever put a DeRozan banner up, I’ll go up there and pull it down myself,” Drake said during a Raptors broadcast. Drake has not only been a fan of the Raptors but has also worked with the team professionally for about the same length of time he has known DeRozan.
